The Technique: I honestly just went with what I was feeling, and did not have a set plan for what I was doing. Just keep in mind you can do what ever you want!
Quick Tip for the studs--these studs have four legs on the back, and they are pointed to get through fabric better. But since they are pointed be careful about poking your fingers. When you push the four legs of the stud through the fabric, make sure they are as far through as they will go. Then take your pen or knife (which ever works for you) and push the legs into the middle. After all are push down completely tug at the stud gently to insure it is sturdy.
1. Put a stud in the front corners of the collar and then decorate with lines and a triangle. Since the collar is thicker denim it will be harder to put the stud legs through. I was only able to get 2 out of the 4 legs through, however the stud is completely secured.
2. Fill in the front vertical panel with sketchy gridded lines. (does not have to be perfect!...mine isn't!) Then put dashes along the outside of the pockets and put a heart at the top and bottom of the dashes. Fill in the bottom corner of the jacket with a big stud and then some decorative lines.
3. I then decided to add one of my sequins to the button on the pocket. I used nail glue, and this stuff will dry quickly and make that sequin stick, so work quickly! I then decided the sequin did not shine quite as much as I wanted, so I put silver Sharpie on the top of it. I then decorated the corners of the pockets.
4. I decorated the button area so when the jacket is buttoned the cool design I added to the seam will show. I just drew a dashed line along the diagonal seam already present. And then in free corners of the diagonal seam i drew small hearts. On the back of the jacket I did not add any studs, I just drew in black and silver Sharpie where I felt the jacket needed some character.
This is the FINISHED RESULT! I hope you all can try this at home! It is honestly so simple and easy. And you can make it any way you want. The changes are subtle, and even small in some places, but no one is going to have the same jacket at you! Thank you!
